Drunken Goldeneye 007: Does Alcohol Make it Better?

Warning: this one gets sloppy.

Let's have another round (of Goldeneye 007), D-Pads!

This week we aim to answer the age old question: are we better at gaming when we're drunk, or sober? And what better game to test this out on than one of the greatest multiplayer experiences of all time: Goldeneye 64!

After catching ourselves up on our recent gaming habits, including Andrew's new obsession with Mario Kart 8, and Mikey's first foray into God of War: Ragnarok, we face off in a sober best 2 out of 3 matchup in Goldeneye before drinking our faces off, and trying it out all over again after we've had some time to get... loose.

Let us know which other games you'd like us to test this out on!

The State of Overwatch: THEN vs NOW

We may have started this podcast as an excuse to revisit retro games, but one game has loomed over our conversations almost every single month: Overwatch.

With Overwatch 2 entering our lives a few months ago, we've had plenty of time to let the changes sink in, and reminisce over some of the elements of Overwatch 1 which we find ourselves missing.

Given the prominence of Overwatch in our lives, we wanted to spend a full episode at the end of the year looking back on the game we've been dumping countless hours into since 2016. How does Overwatch 2 compare to Overwatch 1?

What are some of the changes we like or dislike the most? How much longer do we imagine we'll play this game? Let us know your thoughts, and Happy New Year!

THESE are the BEST Video Games Based on Movies

This week we're breaking down the greatest Video Games based on movies OF ALL TIME! NOTE: We had to use a backup video recording, so it's a bit choppier than usual.

Sure, God of War: Ragnarok has made Norse Mythology all the rage, but what about the cool, hip side of Christianity?

We aim to find out how Christian Theological games stack up with a look at Bible Adventures on the NES!

It may have made its way to the Sega Genesis by 2005, but the most interesting story is how the developer Wisdom Tree managed to sell hundreds of thousands of copies of this unlicensed game on the Nintendo Entertainment System without needing to go to confession or say a singled Hail Mary!

But before we set off to gather all the animals for the Ark, we check in on Andrew's progress with God of War: Ragnarok, and Mikey gushes about one of his games of the year in The Curse of the Golden Idol!

This was one of Mikey's favourite handheld games as a kid, but we aim to find out if it's just a boring game with a Pokemon skin, or if it actually holds up in the modern day.

But before we tilt the pinball table, we take a quiz to find out which pokemon type we are (you can play along here: https://play.nintendo.com/activities/personality-quizzes/what-pokemon-are-you/), discuss the worst pokemon from the original 151, and question why there's a pokemon which crosses over a kangaroo with one of the most notorious warlords of all time!

Before finding out whether this modern reimagination of first person classics like Doom, Duke Nukem, and Quake is the game we've always wanted, we talk about some of the initial reviews of God of War: Ragnarok, the most popular games we HAVEN'T liked, and question whether variety in games is always a good thing.
