Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted- How Scary Is It!? (#RetroGrave)

We saved the best for last in this final week of RetroGrave! Neither of us have ever played a VR horror game, so we figured we'd bring you along with us as we tried out Five Nights at Freddy's first VR game: Help Wanted!

While it's technically the 8th major installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, this entry is actually the HIGHEST rated FNaF game to be released so far.

We reviewed the original Five Nights at Freddy's a couple years ago and found it underwhelming, but does the addition of immersive VR change our thoughts?

Before putting on our Meta Quest 2 and screaming at Freddy Fazbear, we catch up on our Overwatch 2 progress, and give updates on our other gaming adventures!

The Mortuary Assistant - How Scary Is It!? (#RetroGrave)

This week we continue Retrograve with a game that certainly isn't retro, but is most definitely going to get your skin crawling.

It's The Mortuary Assistant! It was developed by the one man team consisting of Brian Clarke and Brian Clarke only over at DarkStone Digital, and let us be the first to tell you: it worked on us.

But does the sheer terror that this game instills in us mean that it's necessarily a GOOD GAME?

We aim to find that out. Before getting into our thoughts on The Mortuary Assistant, we talk about some of our favourite scary games of all time, and all the ways we're getting into the spookiest month of the year!

Slender: The Eight Pages - FIRST TIME Playing (#RetroGrave)

We kick off #Retrograve with one of the more iconic horror videogames of the last decade or so: Slender: The Eight Pages Since we started looking at spooky games, a Slenderman game has been one of the most requested titles, and this one does not disappoint.

...or does it?

Just because Slender Man and his legacy creeped us out back then doesn't NECESSARILY mean it'll have the same effect on us 10 years later.

We replay the game and find out just how spooky this game still is.

But before we set off to the forest to collect some hastily scribbled journal papers, we give some updates on Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Elden Ring, Vampire Survivors, and more!

Remember--for the month of October, in celebration of Retrograve, all of our gameplay segments will be posted publicly on YouTube instead of just our patreon channel!

Forty years ago, Joust rode onto the arcade scene and brought fresh controls and an entirely wacky concept straight to the mainstream.

Uniracers (SNES) Retro Review - Is It Still Worth Playing?

What's the best game about living Unicycles that you've ever played?

If that question captured your interest, you may want to join us this week as we look back at Uniracers by DMA Design--the company which would eventually become Rockstar North!

Released in Europe as Unirally, this obscure unicycle stunt racer attained "cult classic" status when its release was jeopardized by a lawsuit brought on by Pixar. We aim to find out if this title deserved more attention, or if it was better off left in the realm of the obscure.

Before getting into Uniracers, we catch up on some of our recent gaming habits by questioning the release of Madden 23, and giving our thoughts on the remaster of The Last of Us.

Mario Kart 64 (N64) Retro Review

This week we rush into Mario Kart 64 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo!

We played Super Mario Kart recently on the podcast, and were slightly disappointed by how it held up in the modern day. Surely the jump to 3D will be enough to solidify Mario Kart 64 as one of the best kart racers of all time, right?

Tune in to find out!

But before we take to Toad's Turnpike we check in on Andrew's thoughts about Madden 23, and see how Mikey's followers are doing in Cult of the Lamb!
